About the role
Responsibilities
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) responsible for the origination of structured trade finance and working capital solutions.
- Drive growth of trade and working capital solutions within Santander’s leveraged finance client base, including portfolio companies of financial sponsors.
- Partner with Investment and Sponsor coverage banker teams to provide structuring and product support for leveraged finance transactions.
- Manage the deal origination and structuring process, including the preparation of commitment letters, term sheets, pitch books, and conditional documents.
- Develop customized solutions involving esoteric asset classes such as trade receivables and unperformed customer contracts.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent demonstrated work experience.
- Expert knowledge of GTB products, including export and agency finance, with an emphasis on structured trade finance (SCF, lending, and LC).
- Advanced knowledge of securitization, tranching, and structured finance, specifically trade receivable securitization.
- Proven ability to lead trade finance transaction closings and negotiate terms with clients, internal credit, and legal teams.
- Advanced knowledge of levered finance products (RCF, Term Loan A/B, LBO) and the portfolio company lifecycle.
- Strong skills in financial analysis, risk evaluation, and loan documentation.
- Ability to work independently and build strong internal and external professional relationships.
Preferred Qualifications
- Established work history within leveraged finance or structured trade finance.
- Advanced understanding of private equity fund structures, objectives, and desired outcomes.
- Knowledge of ECM and DCM product offerings.
