Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end sourcing strategy for a diverse portfolio of mechanical, electromechanical, electronic, and biocompatible commodities.
  • Identify, qualify, and onboard new suppliers to build a resilient, global supplier base.
  • Negotiate contracts, MSAs, SOWs, and IP terms in partnership with Legal and Finance.
  • Build should-cost models and lead year-over-year cost reduction initiatives.
  • Manage supplier performance against quality, delivery, and cost scorecards.
  • Align supplier capacity with clinical-build and commercial-ramp forecasts.
  • Drive supply-risk management, including sub-tier dependency mapping and mitigation planning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or business discipline (Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, etc.).
  • Proven track record as a generalist moving across at least two distinct technical commodities.
  • Experience in hardware manufacturing, medical devices, aerospace, automotive, or robotics.
  • Hands-on experience running full RFI/RFQ/RFP cycles.
  • Demonstrated commercial negotiation experience (piece-price, tooling, NRE, IP terms).
  • Strong analytical skills for should-cost and total-cost-of-ownership modeling.
  • Familiarity with supplier-quality toolkits (PPAP, APQP, FMEA) and QMS frameworks (ISO 13485, ISO 9001).
  • Ability to read engineering drawings, GD&T, and BOMs.
  • Proficiency in ERP/procurement systems (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, etc.).
  • Willingness to travel 25–50% to supplier sites.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or MS in Supply Chain/Operations.
  • Sourcing experience in a regulated medical-device environment (ISO 13485/21 CFR Part 820).
  • Experience scaling complex hardware from clinical builds to commercial volume.
