Global Product Manager - Color

Responsibilities

• Define and own Axalta’s global color strategy across the Mobility business while providing strategic input to Refinish and Industrial segments.
• Establish formal management processes for the R&D Color Team, including governance, project intake, resource planning, and prioritization.
• Align OEM color development with dispersion chemistry to ensure color accuracy, durability, and sustainability.
• Create business cases and investment proposals for new dispersion platforms and technology upgrades.
• Manage the full portfolio of global color and dispersion projects, ensuring cross-functional alignment between R&D, Operations, Marketing, and Quality.
• Lead global color leadership initiatives, including Color of the Year, Color Trend Reports, and the Color Trend Show.
• Act as an external-facing color authority by engaging directly with OEM design studios, suppliers, and industry partners.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry, materials science, engineering, design, or a related technical field.
• 7+ years of experience in color science, dispersion chemistry, automotive color development, or pigment technologies.
• Demonstrated experience working with OEM color development, design studios, or coatings color platforms.
• Proven ability to manage complex global project portfolios and influence cross-functional teams.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to link technical decisions to commercial value.
• Familiarity with Stage-Gate or equivalent innovation governance methods.
• Ability to travel moderately on a global scale for OEM engagement and regional coordination.
