Responsibilities

• Own the full employee lifecycle in India including onboarding, documentation, and offboarding
• Serve as the primary HR point of contact for India-based employees
• Ensure compliance with Indian labor laws such as PF, ESI, and the Shops & Establishment Act
• Manage office operations, facilities, supplies, and vendor relationships
• Coordinate office logistics for events and visiting US team members
• Partner with payroll providers to ensure accurate and timely processing
• Manage benefits administration and statutory compliance filings
• Champion company culture and plan engagement initiatives for the India office
• Support recruiting coordination including interview scheduling and candidate experience

Requirements

• 3-8 years of experience in People Ops, HR, or Office Administration
• At least 2 years in a management or standalone HR role
• Bachelor's degree required
• Strong knowledge of Indian labor and employment law
• Hands-on experience with office administration and vendor operations
• Ability to work onsite in Bangalore 5 days a week
• Excellent English communication skills
• Ability to overlap with US Pacific time zones

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience at a US-headquartered scaling technology startup
• Familiarity with PEO/EOR models
• Experience setting up HR and office operations from scratch
• Exposure to HRIS platforms like Rippling, Darwinbox, or Keka
• Experience supporting tech recruitment in India
