Global Category Manager, Advisory Services

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of global category strategies for Advisory and Consulting services.
• Manage a global spend of approximately £70m, ensuring commercially sound and scalable solutions.
• Partner with business leaders to translate organizational needs into clear sourcing strategies and engagement models.
• Conduct market and industry analysis to identify trends and provide evidence-based recommendations.
• Optimize procurement processes to improve efficiency, governance, and cost-effectiveness across regions.
• Deliver financial benefits in alignment with category strategies and savings methodologies.
• Build and manage strategic relationships with key global suppliers, including leading QBRs and establishing KPIs.
• Manage third-party risks and implement operational excellence strategies for key suppliers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Proven experience leading procurement or category management specifically for Advisory/Consulting spend.
• Strong expertise in sourcing, negotiation, and contracting (RFPs, rate cards, MSAs, and SOWs).
• Demonstrated ability to generate actionable insights from spend analytics and benchmarking data.
• Experience managing complex projects in cross-functional, matrixed environments.
• Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills at senior leadership levels.

Preferred Qualifications

• 10+ years of operational procurement experience across multiple categories.
• In-depth knowledge of procurement tools for sourcing, quotation analysis, and supplier development.
• Strong understanding of finance (cost benchmarking, financial audits) and legal matters related to contracting.
• Significant experience working within a global or regional matrixed business environment.
• Proven ability to lead change management and mentor others within a professional setting.
