Global Alliance Director

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a portfolio of China-based alliances, ensuring adherence to contractual obligations and effective conflict resolution.
• Establish and nurture trust-based relationships with Chinese partners to align expectations and resolve operational issues.
• Partner with Global Alliance Directors in Basel and San Francisco to provide local context, cultural nuances, and business etiquette expertise.
• Act as a center of expertise for China partnerships, sharing market insights and regulatory knowledge with global teams.
• Build and sustain high-value relationships within the Chinese biotech and VC ecosystems to identify scalable partnership opportunities.
• Lead negotiations and implement contractual amendments in coordination with BD, Finance, and Legal stakeholders.
• Represent Corporate Business Development in public forums and conferences within China.

Requirements

• Advanced degree (Master, Diploma, MD, PhD, or PharmD) in business, finance, or a science-related field.
• 10+ years of professional experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, with a strong focus on the China ecosystem.
• Deep understanding of the entire pharmaceutical value chain, from R&D to commercialization.
• Strong proficiency in financial and contractual disciplines.
• Proven track record of managing cross-functional teams and interacting with senior leadership.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in both English and Chinese.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex, high-pressure projects in a matrix environment.
