GL Accountant

Responsibilities

• Independently manage month-end close processes for EMEA and German entities
• Prepare financial statements, balance sheet reconciliations, MIS, and bank reconciliations
• Analyze trial balances and perform necessary adjusting entries and corrections
• Coordinate with internal teams and auditors for interim and statutory audits
• Review and approve invoices and expenses, and process journal entries in the accounting system
• Maintain the fixed asset register and prepare monthly reconciliations
• Handle special projects, financial analysis, and reporting for EMEA and USA managers
• Apply working knowledge of direct and indirect taxes to support accounting functions

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or CA Intermediate qualification
• 5+ years of experience in general ledger accounting within a corporate environment
• Experience in Accounts Payable and knowledge of sales and input tax (specifically for German companies)
• Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and Outlook
• Strong command of written and spoken English
• Ability to work shifting timings (11 AM to 8 PM)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with Swiss or German GAAP (HGB and IFRS)
• Proficiency in SAP or S4Hana
• Knowledge of the German language
