GIS Installation Supervisor

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate on-site Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) installation, assembly, and testing activities.
• Act as the primary on-site representative for the Project Manager, overseeing site operations and resource allocation.
• Ensure all work complies with approved engineering drawings, method statements, and technical standards.
• Manage subcontractor performance and productivity, ensuring high workmanship and adherence to schedules.
• Champion a 'Zero Harm' safety culture by enforcing strict HSEQ compliance and permit-to-work systems.
• Implement Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and manage the closure of quality punch list items.
• Coordinate with commissioning, logistics, and quality teams to resolve technical issues and prevent delays.
• Prepare accurate site documentation, including daily progress reports and safety records.

Requirements

• Degree, HNC/HND, or equivalent technical qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Proven experience in site management or supervision on high-voltage substation projects, preferably with GIS equipment.
• Experience managing subcontractors and multi-disciplinary teams in construction or commissioning environments.
• SSSTS (Site Supervision Safety Training Scheme) certification.
• SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certification.
• Strong technical expertise in high voltage electrical equipment and engineering drawings.
• Full UK Driving License.
