GIS/DT Field Service Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on installation activities and lead primary and secondary GIS installation projects
• Read and interpret technical drawings and follow standard work procedures for Gas Insulated Switchgear installation
• Supervise manpower, equipment, and tools on construction sites
• Operate electrical, mechanical, and testing tools and equipment proficiently
• Ensure compliance with company values and internal environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations
• Manage the handover of installed Gas Insulated Substations (GIS) to clients
• Communicate effectively with Project Managers, Quality Departments, Technical Support, clients, and contractors
• Provide weekly progress and status reports to site coordinators and project managers
• Support Dead Tank Circuit Breakers and other GE Vernova products

Requirements

• Electro-mechanic or similar technical training
• Associate’s degree in electrical or mechanical technology (or a highly related field)
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in manufacturing or field service
• Ability to read and understand electrical and mechanical drawings
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 85% of the time, including domestic and international travel
• Fluency in English

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the installation, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical assemblies and electrical control circuits
• Basic knowledge of Local Control Cubicles (LCC)
• Strong negotiation and leadership skills
