About the role
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive geriatric assessments
- Diagnose and manage complex medical, cognitive, and functional issues in elderly patients
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams including nurses, home care professionals, dietitians and physiotherapists
- Provide education and support to patients, families, and caregivers
- Participate in research, teaching, or program development
- Contribute to clinic initiatives for geriatric care improvement
Requirements
- MD degree with specialization in Geriatric Medicine
- Certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) in Geriatric Medicine or equivalent
- Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO)
- Strong clinical and communication skills
- Experience working in an interdisciplinary healthcare environment is an asset
