Geriatrician

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive geriatric assessments
• Diagnose and manage complex medical, cognitive, and functional issues in elderly patients
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams including nurses, home care professionals, dietitians and physiotherapists
• Provide education and support to patients, families, and caregivers
• Participate in research, teaching, or program development
• Contribute to clinic initiatives for geriatric care improvement

Requirements

• MD degree with specialization in Geriatric Medicine
• Certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) in Geriatric Medicine or equivalent
• Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO)
• Strong clinical and communication skills
• Experience working in an interdisciplinary healthcare environment is an asset
