Geriatric Section Head

Responsibilities

• Lead the Geriatric Section within the Division of General Internal Medicine, Geriatrics & Palliative Care
• Develop and implement system-wide strategies for geriatric care across inpatient, outpatient, long-term care, and home-based settings
• Guide the clinical vision for the program and support multidisciplinary collaboration
• Mentor medical students, residents, fellows, and junior faculty to support the academic mission
• Advance the continuum of geriatric care and shape approaches to meeting the needs of an aging population

Requirements

• Clinical expertise in geriatrics
• Proven physician leadership experience
• Experience in academic medicine
• Strong mentorship and teaching capabilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Interest in research collaboration or dual appointment with the Charleston VA
• Experience in program development and strategic planning within a healthcare system
