About the role
Responsibilities
- Operate equipment including skid-steer, forklift, and water truck
- Assist Re-vegetation Engineer with greenhouse maintenance, irrigation, and planting
- Collect soil, water, waste, and other environmental samples
- Conduct regular environmental inspections to ensure regulatory compliance
- Prepare field observation notes, records, and reports
- Manage hazardous waste and investigate accidental spills
- Monitor protection of desert tortoises and other protected species
- Support sustainability initiatives like land restoration and water conservation
- Perform data entry using MS Word and Excel
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED
- Ability to operate heavy equipment (skid-steer, forklift, water truck)
- Ability to work in extreme desert weather conditions
- Ability to work on uneven or rough terrain
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to follow directions and work effectively in a team
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in environmental, mining, or related fields
- Current MSHA Certification
- HAZWOPER certification
- DOT certifications for waste inspections and disposals
