About the role
Responsibilities
- Develop technically competent geotechnical reports using efficient working practices to provide industry-leading services.
- Support all aspects of project delivery, including financial analysis, client liaison, and management of specialists and sub-consultants.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and provide professional advice to build relationships and raise the profile of the geotechnical division.
- Manage project work with robust financial oversight, including budget responsibility for project delivery.
- Ensure all work complies with accepted methods, legislation (including CDM), and corporate health, safety, environment, and quality (SHEQ) standards.
- Undertake continuing professional development and mentor others to build team capability.
Requirements
- 5 to 8 years of geotechnical design experience, specifically in foundations, slope stability, and embedded retaining walls.
- Master's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Geotechnical Engineering, Soil Mechanics, or Foundation Engineering.
- Proven experience with metro projects, including underground elements, ground movement assessment, and diaphragm wall designs.
- Strong knowledge of Eurocode 7 and UK annex design codes.
- Proficiency in geotechnical design software for deep/shallow foundations, earthworks, and slope stability.
- Excellent report-writing and client liaison skills, with the ability to lead client and contractor meetings.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with software such as XDISP, GEOSTUDIO, WALLAP, Settle 3D, Slide 2, Plaxis 2D, or Plaxis 3D.
- Knowledge of Engineering Geology.
- Chartered Engineer status (preferably ICE, UK) or actively working towards chartership.
