Geotechnical Engineer

Responsibilities

• Perform geotechnical engineering analysis, foundation and subsurface design, and evaluation during construction
• Conduct design calculations for shallow and deep foundations, including bearing capacity, settlement, and earth retention
• Assist with writing and preparation of geotechnical reports
• Collaborate with other engineering disciplines and assist with project schedules
• Perform research and work with drafters to create design drawings
• Travel to project sites for observation, soil classification, and oversight of geotechnical investigations

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in civil or Geotechnical engineering
• Engineer Intern (EI) or Engineering in Training (EIT) certificate
• Technical skills in geotechnical analysis and design
• Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing 30 pounds or more
• Ability to travel 70% or more and perform night work
• Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheets
