About the role
Responsibilities
- Propose innovative geotechnical approaches to enhance foundation design efficiency and minimize construction expenses
- Provide expert recommendations for geotechnical investigation needs, design criteria, and execution plans for earthworks, foundations, and piling
- Spearhead geotechnical projects, including technical bid evaluation, vendor selection, and project cost/schedule management
- Assess geotechnical risks for offshore and onshore projects and devise mitigation strategies to ensure safety and reliability
- Oversee third-party geotechnical studies, site selection, and pipeline route evaluations
- Contribute to the development of company and industry standards and provide technical expertise to global Upstream and Downstream projects
Requirements
- Master’s or post-graduate degree in Geotechnical Engineering with a minimum GPA of 7.0
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a Geotechnical engineering role
- Proven experience in foundation design for offshore and/or onshore structures (e.g., steel piled jackets, refineries, subsea pipelines, or industrial structures)
- Comprehensive understanding of geotechnical principles and soil mechanics
- Experience developing geotechnical site investigation scopes and reviewing interpretative reports
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience conducting geotechnical engineering assessments including PSHA, slope stability, anchors, and liquefaction
- Proficiency in geotechnical software such as GRLWEAP, GEOSLOPE, PLAXIS, or L-PILE/A-PILE
- Ability to leverage modeling and IT tools, including Geographic Information Systems (GIS), for data management
- Experience providing support for drilling activities and jack-up foundation assessments
