Geospatial Specialist

Responsibilities

• Collect and manage spatial data
• Conduct spatial analysis and create digital maps and visualizations
• Project and transform data to map specifications
• Implement solutions to resolve discrepancies in data sources
• Recognize source and derivative model anomalies to mitigate error propagation
• Capture metadata and execute quality assurance/quality control reviews
• Generate descriptive reports of methodology and results

Requirements

• BS in Geographic Information Systems, Earth Science, Natural Science, Physical Science, or a related field
• At least 3 years of directly related professional experience
• Proficiency with GIS software applications such as ArcGIS Pro or QGIS
• Basic background in Python programming
• Ability to obtain and maintain a national agency background check
• Minimum of 3-year residency in the United States
• Strong written and oral communication skills for authoring documentation and reports

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with code configuration management
• Fundamental knowledge of remote sensing science
• Experience generating spatial maps of geophysical information
