Geometry Engineer

Responsibilities

• Support tolerance commitment negotiation by validating RFQ commitments and measurement scenarios with Product Architects.
• Ensure geometry convergence by validating geometry folders, participating in design reviews, and proposing technical solutions.
• Define specifications for checking fixtures and oversee their design, development, manufacturing, and commissioning.
• Lead and analyze Gauge R&R studies, providing recommendations and supporting plant-level training.
• Plan and coordinate dimensional measurements (1D, 2D, 3D), including 3D scanning, and deliver consolidated reports.
• Drive tolerance approval with customers and manage measurement activities in line with convergence plans up to PPAP.
• Support geometry tasks for external supplier parts and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (with relevant experience) or a Master’s degree in Engineering.
• Proven experience in the geometry field within the automotive industry, specifically in measurement and fixture development.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering, statistics, tolerancing, and dimensional inspection.
• Expertise in Gauge R&R and geometry analysis.
• Proficiency with 3D scanning tools (PolyWorks preferred).
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to communicate technical data effectively.
• Proficiency in written and spoken English.
• Ability to work autonomously and interface effectively between product, process, and customer teams.
