Geology Technician

Responsibilities

• Gather and map geological, stope width, and grade control information from production areas
• Record stope width information and basic geological feature mapping
• Capture digital photographs of geological sites
• Input data into Microstation-CadsMine and MRM systems
• Perform drill core logging and plot information on electronic and 1:200 plans
• Write reports for production staff
• Identify, demarcate, and respond to geological hazards and unsafe conditions
• Maintain and clean geological equipment and request necessary materials

Requirements

• Grade 12 with Mathematics and Science
• Two years of Technical Assistant experience in an open pit environment
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, AutoCAD, and Dispatch
• Valid Code 08 driver's licence
• Competency in relevant industry standards and procedures
