Geologist

Responsibilities

• Identify and log soils and conditions encountered in the field to coordinate drilling activities
• Evaluate geological conditions in situ for field decisions
• Author scientific reports for review and approval by governmental and regulatory agencies
• Perform statistical analyses and technical writing using relational databases and scientific software
• Assist with the development and implementation of project plans to delineate chemicals of concern
• Oversee environmental field activities, including Direct Push Technology and drilling rig oversight
• Collect and document soil, air, and water samples
• Manage and partner with field subcontractors

Requirements

• Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Geological Sciences, or a related field
• 5 to 10 years of relevant experience as a Geologist or Environmental Scientist
• Demonstrated experience writing technical plans and reports for regulatory review
• Hands-on experience conducting environmental field work for site characterization or remediation
• Knowledge of various media (soil vapor, groundwater) and contaminants
• Valid driver license and ability to drive pick-up trucks or transit vans
• Ability to pass U.S. Government background checks and acquire PIV credentials

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working on projects for DoD, DOE, EPA, or other federal agencies
• Working knowledge of CERCLA and/or RCRA regulatory processes
• 40 Hour HAZWOPER certification
• OSHA 30 Hour certification
