Geologist/Environmental Scientist

Responsibilities

• Perform various field and office tasks applying standard geological principles and theories
• Classify and describe various types of soil and rock samples accurately
• Collect and analyze soil, surface water, groundwater, and sediment samples
• Provide technical guidance for stratigraphic and groundwater drilling programs
• Assist in the development of geological mapping and prepare geologic maps and cross sections
• Analyze and interpret geological, hydrogeological, and hydrogeochemical data
• Prepare geologic reports and materials based on completed field work
• Monitor and guide the work of lower-level geologists

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Geology, Environmental Science, or a related field
• 3+ years of related work experience
• Proficiency in soil classification and geologic theories
• Knowledge of computer modeling for groundwater flow patterns
• Ability to travel to various field sites
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
