About the role
Responsibilities
- Monitor and collect data using slope stability radar (SSR)
- Identify and manage geological and geotechnical hazards
- Conduct mapping, logging, and data validation
- Develop short-term geological and geotechnical models
- Support mine planning, drill and blast design, and operational decision-making
- Assist in minimizing coal loss and contamination
- Perform reconciliation analysis for continuous improvement
- Collaborate with geologists, engineers, and operations teams
Requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in Geological Sciences, civil engineering, or mining engineering
- At least three years of experience in operational mining, preferably open cut coal
- Knowledge of geotechnical hazards and mitigation strategies
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Slope Stability Radar (SSR) and monitoring
