About the role

Responsibilities

  • Receive and accession specimens, resolving issues in a timely manner
  • Prepare DNA and RNA samples for sequencing, including extraction and quantification
  • Perform tissue culture procedures including set-up, feeding, and harvesting
  • Conduct molecular testing for kit-based CLIA waved assays
  • Operate and perform daily maintenance on laboratory instruments
  • Maintain laboratory databases, quality control logs, and instrument maintenance records
  • Follow strict procedures to ensure patient safety and prevent PCR contamination
  • Assist with troubleshooting technical issues related to sample prep and sequencing
  • Manage reagent stock and notify supervisors of shortages
  • Support training for new employees, students, and residents

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in medical technology
  • Must satisfy CLIA’88 qualification requirements for high complexity testing
  • Excellent organizational and communication abilities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Certification or eligibility as a medical technician
  • Previous clinical laboratory experience
  • Experience with Epic Beaker or similar laboratory information systems
  • Ability to operate molecular laboratory equipment
