About the role
Responsibilities
- Assist with pre-visit preparation, including collecting medical records, lab reports, and patient intake forms
- Process, package, and ship specimens and prepare samples for genetic testing
- Obtain and coordinate insurance pre-authorization for specialized laboratory testing
- Scan and upload documents into the electronic medical record system
- Coordinate the collection of consent forms and samples for virtual appointments
- Perform appointment and testing data entry into clinical databases
- Manage genetic testing supplies and kits to ensure adequate stock levels
- Provide administrative support such as mailing result letters and making appointment reminder calls
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience
- Familiarity with medical terminology and laboratory testing
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, and Word)
- Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
- Two years of related experience in a clinical or medical administrative setting
