About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform independent quality oversight by witnessing the assembly, disassembly, and testing of components and systems
- Establish and implement inspections before systems are processed or installed
- Monitor work practices and ensure corrective actions are implemented
- Read blueprints and specifications to ensure products meet established standards
- Use precision measurement tools, such as micrometer screw gauges, to verify product dimensions
- Review, maintain, and update technical work documents and instructions during and after builds
- Accept or reject finished products and communicate inspection results to the team
- Work with engineering and development teams during new product or facility start-ups to implement key checkpoints
Requirements
- High School diploma plus 3 years of directly related experience, or equivalent experience/achievements
- Experience with electrical or mechanical design, assembly, repair, and installation processes
- Experience with parts and component inspection
- Experience working within ISO9001 and/or AS9100 quality standards
- Current DOE L or Q security clearance (or equivalent) to start
- Ability to travel as required
Preferred Qualifications
- BS in electrical or mechanical engineering, or a related technical degree
- Knowledge of mechanical assembly practices and electrical/mechanical component orientation
- Experience with ordinance installation and handling practices
- Experience in a fast-paced production environment
- Green Belt certification training
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for authoring policies and procedures
