About the role

Responsibilities

  • Perform independent quality oversight by witnessing the assembly, disassembly, and testing of components and systems
  • Establish and implement inspections before systems are processed or installed
  • Monitor work practices and ensure corrective actions are implemented
  • Read blueprints and specifications to ensure products meet established standards
  • Use precision measurement tools, such as micrometer screw gauges, to verify product dimensions
  • Review, maintain, and update technical work documents and instructions during and after builds
  • Accept or reject finished products and communicate inspection results to the team
  • Work with engineering and development teams during new product or facility start-ups to implement key checkpoints

Requirements

  • High School diploma plus 3 years of directly related experience, or equivalent experience/achievements
  • Experience with electrical or mechanical design, assembly, repair, and installation processes
  • Experience with parts and component inspection
  • Experience working within ISO9001 and/or AS9100 quality standards
  • Current DOE L or Q security clearance (or equivalent) to start
  • Ability to travel as required

Preferred Qualifications

  • BS in electrical or mechanical engineering, or a related technical degree
  • Knowledge of mechanical assembly practices and electrical/mechanical component orientation
  • Experience with ordinance installation and handling practices
  • Experience in a fast-paced production environment
  • Green Belt certification training
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for authoring policies and procedures
