General Superintendent

Responsibilities

• Provide overall on-site construction management, coordinating design intent, budget, and schedule
• Lead and supervise union craft labor in accordance with Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs)
• Ensure work compliance with project drawings, specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations
• Develop and maintain detailed construction schedules and forecast manpower, material, and equipment needs
• Coordinate with union representatives, forepersons, and stewards to ensure proper staffing and jurisdiction compliance
• Lead site meetings with internal teams, union representatives, and external stakeholders
• Proactively identify and communicate potential risks, work interferences, or jurisdictional conflicts

Requirements

• 3–5 years of Heavy Civil construction experience (deep excavation, wet utilities, electrical utility installations)
• Experience within a unionized construction environment
• Strong knowledge of union labour practices, collective agreements, and grievance avoidance
• Construction-related degree/diploma with 5–8 years experience, or equivalent combination of training and experience
• Proficiency with construction scheduling tools and project management software
• Ontario "G" Driver’s License
• Ability to travel to project sites

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of Procore
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Project)
• Experience managing both union and non-union staff
