General Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate, and develop front-of-house and back-of-house teams across two distinctive venues.
• Maintain a visible leadership presence during peak trading periods, events, and critical operational situations.
• Protect the guest experience and ensure high service standards are maintained across all departments.
• Manage daily operations, including staffing levels, maintenance, cleanliness, and venue presentation.
• Develop and manage operating budgets, revenue targets, labor costs, and controllable expenses.
• Implement effective stock control procedures and monitor food and beverage cost percentages.
• Oversee the planning and execution of events, entertainment schedules, and promotional activities.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, hygiene, licensing, and responsible alcohol service requirements.

Requirements

• 5–7 years of senior management experience within a high-volume lounge, bar, restaurant, or lifestyle hospitality environment.
• Proven financial management capability, including budgeting, forecasting, and profitability analysis.
• Expertise in stock control, cost management, and variance reporting.
• Strong leadership, coaching, and team-development skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and hospitality POS systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Legal right to work in South Africa.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage complex or high-risk situations.
