General Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day business and operational functions of the O2 Academy Sheffield
• Manage and motivate a large, diverse team to ensure high-quality service and productivity
• Maximise the events diary by generating commercial and creative opportunities for shows and club events
• Act as the primary point of contact for all contracted events and maintain strong client relationships
• Oversee all licensing administration, risk assessments, and health and safety compliance
• Manage venue budgets, forecasting, and operating costs to meet or exceed annual targets
• Direct building maintenance and ensure the venue is maintained to the highest standards
• Represent the venue and company professionally to local authorities and the public

Requirements

• Proven background in live entertainment or high-volume venue management
• Experience managing large teams and driving employee performance
• Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and licensing laws
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages
• Strong P&L awareness and experience with budgeting and cost control
• Excellent communication, diplomacy, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays

Preferred Qualifications

• Personal licence holder
• Demonstrable experience in booking and promoting live events
• Proven track record in delivering first-class customer service in a fast-paced environment
