General Maintenance Worker

Responsibilities

• Maintain and replace light fixtures, motors, and use joint compound to patch walls and ceilings
• Repair or replace sink faucets, water coolers, toilets, and urinals
• Paint structures and equipment
• Repair or replace stone pavers, steps, doors, door locks, and window cranks
• Perform general maintenance on equipment and machinery
• Manage lighting changes and drain maintenance
• Perform housekeeping of mechanical spaces and rooms
• Move furniture and equipment
• Execute semiskilled and skilled duties in other maintenance trade areas

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• At least 3 years of general maintenance experience, preferably in a government facility
• Practical skill in painting, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, masonry, and electrical work
• Ability to climb ladders, crouch, crawl, and handle objects
• Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 50 lbs
• Fluency in English (reading, writing, speaking, and understanding)
• Ability to pass a government background check
