General Maintenance Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform equipment and facility repairs to ensure a safe living and learning environment
• Conduct testing, inspections, and preventive maintenance on building systems and equipment
• Monitor and evaluate system operations to detect, investigate, and prevent potential failures
• Execute varied maintenance and repairs in residential halls, academic buildings, and residential properties
• Assist and train other staff members to improve department performance and capabilities

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1-3 years of related work experience or educational equivalent
• Valid driver’s license
• Knowledge of building systems and equipment
• Ability to use computers for completing timesheets, work orders, and email
• Physical ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Vocational or technical training
• Five years of experience in building maintenance or trades
