General Maintenance Mechanic 2nd Class

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair building systems, equipment, and fixtures.
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks for residential and commercial-type building systems.
• Inspect buildings and roofs to ensure safety and structural integrity.
• Utilize hand and power tools, measuring/diagnostic instruments, and mobile electronic devices.
• Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Perform various trades including carpentry, masonry, painting, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC work.
• Execute brazing, soldering, pipe fitting, welding, and fabrication as required.
• Coordinate repairs with other trades and departments.
• Assist with furniture and event setups, including decorations for special functions.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Formal training in general maintenance and documentation of successful completion.
• Moderate experience in preventative maintenance, meter reading, and motor testing.
• Experience with the repair and shutoff of gas, water, electrical, and life safety systems.
• Knowledge of building and utilities construction, including refrigeration and air handling units.
• Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints, drawings, and schematics.
• Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.
• Current ANSI/OSHA compliant training card for operating aerial lifts, bucket trucks, or forklifts.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Outlook.
• Physical ability to climb ladders, bend, reach, crawl, and lift up to 60 lbs.
• Ability to work the 3rd shift schedule (Sunday – Thursday, 11:00pm – 7:30am).

Preferred Qualifications

• Current OSHA 10 certification or higher.
• Proven ability to operate aerial/scissor lifts, bucket trucks, and forklifts.
