Responsibilities

• Lead and scale a high-performance legal team
• Design and implement scalable governance frameworks
• Act as a strategic business partner on new products, partnerships, and market expansions
• Recruit top legal talent and build durable legal processes
• Integrate AI into legal workflows to scale team capabilities
• Manage risk while enabling safe, accelerated business growth
• Represent the company in discussions with the board and regulators

Requirements

• LLB or JD degree
• Called to the bar in any Canadian province
• Significant in-house legal experience
• Proven track record in a leadership and team-building capacity
• Experience or strong interest in financial services regulation, fintech, banking, AML, and compliance
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth, and ambiguous environment
• Based in Canada

• Experience building or scaling a legal function from the ground up
• Forward-thinking approach to AI integration in legal operations
• Strong judgment and ability to hold own in executive-level environments
