About the role
Responsibilities
- Independently lead a workshop section to assist students with conceptual understanding of CHM 207 course material
- Facilitate student discussions and assist with homework problems without performing the work for them
- Maintain regular communication with the course instructor via weekly in-person meetings or email check-ins
- Monitor and report on student progress to the instructor
- Perform extra duties as assigned, such as assisting with grading if needed
Requirements
- Successfully completed CHM 207 with a grade of B or higher
- Strong conceptual knowledge of chemistry topics covered in the course
- Ability to facilitate group discussions and help others master complex material
- Good interpersonal and people skills
- Availability to be physically present in the classroom during scheduled workshop times
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a workshop leader, Teaching Assistant (T.A.), or tutor
