General Building Maintenance Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventative maintenance on electrical, HVAC, masonry, carpentry, metal, and painting systems
• Provide 24/7 emergency response to maintenance calls and campus events as required
• Monitor HVAC equipment, complete boiler and mechanical room logs, and ensure safe boiler operations
• Respond to Fire Protection System trouble alarms and provide necessary reports
• Inspect buildings and equipment for repairs and compliance with technical specifications and blueprints
• Operate machine tools for repairs and utilize scissor lifts, boom lifts, and platform lifts for indoor and outdoor tasks
• Perform custodial and groundskeeping duties, including snow plowing and ice removal

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalency
• At least two years of routine maintenance experience (vocational training or apprenticeships in electrical or HVAC may be substituted)
• Black Seal License (or ability to obtain one within 18 months of hire)
• Valid New Jersey driver's license in good standing
• Ability to lift 100 pounds and perform duties in high or confined spaces
• Full knowledge of operating scissor lifts, boom lifts, and platform lifts
