Gearbox Technician Level II

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced disassembly and inspection of industrial gearboxes and drivetrains
• Operate shop equipment including overhead cranes, forklifts, mechanical presses, and cutting torches
• Read and interpret technical drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs)
• Identify internal gearbox components and outfit external electrical and lubrication systems
• Maintain accurate documentation, labor entry, and quality sign-offs
• Support warehouse and finance teams with cycle counting, physical inventory, and inbound/outbound shipments
• Assist the engineering team with quality event resolution and scheduled gear inspections

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Experience operating overhead cranes
• Experience operating forklifts
• Experience using heating and cutting torches
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs regularly
• Ability to stand, bend, and perform hands-on tasks in an industrial shop environment for extended periods

Preferred Qualifications

• Trade school certification or technical degree
• Familiarity with Hytorc equipment
• Experience in a high-performance industrial shop environment
