Gearbox Technician Level II

Responsibilities

• Disassemble industrial gearboxes and mainshafts at a proficient level
• Safely operate all shop equipment, including mechanical presses
• Read and comprehend technical drawings and bills of materials (BOMs)
• Outfit external electrical and lubrication systems
• Perform scheduled gear inspections for reuse and take ownership of quality event resolution
• Support warehouse operations through cycle counting, physical inventory, and inbound/outbound shipments
• Ensure accurate labor entry and documentation for work orders

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Experience operating overhead cranes
• Experience operating forklifts
• Experience using heating and cutting torches
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs regularly
• Ability to work in an industrial shop environment with exposure to mechanical equipment and oils

Preferred Qualifications

• Trade school certification or technical degree
• Familiarity with Hytorc equipment
