GCP Cloud Architect

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable, secure, and cost-optimized cloud solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Lead and oversee deployments of GCP services, ensuring effective integration into existing systems
• Provide technical leadership and expert guidance to teams building GCP-based applications
• Analyze cloud usage to recommend optimizations for performance, availability, and cost-efficiency
• Develop and maintain automated deployments using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform
• Ensure all GCP implementations meet security, compliance, and governance standards
• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and business leaders to align cloud strategies with objectives
• Mentor and train team members on GCP best practices and emerging technologies

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in cloud architecture and implementation, preferably with GCP
• Strong expertise in GCP services including Compute Engine, App Engine, GKE, BigQuery, and Cloud Storage
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Deployment Manager
• Comprehensive understanding of microservices architecture, containerization, and Kubernetes orchestration
• Solid knowledge of networking, firewalls, and security principles within cloud environments
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills for client-facing interactions

Preferred Qualifications

• GCP certifications (e.g., Professional Cloud Architect or Professional DevOps Engineer)
• Experience with other cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
• Knowledge of big data processing tools like Apache Beam or Dataflow
• Understanding of machine learning workflows on GCP using Vertex AI or TensorFlow
• Experience with cloud migration strategies and multi-cloud/hybrid cloud architecture designs
