Gastroenterology Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive healthcare services and coordinate patient care
• Assess and treat patients with gastrointestinal diseases and conditions
• Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical history reviews and physical examinations
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests
• Develop accurate diagnoses and treatment plans
• Prescribe medication and administer treatments
• Provide counseling to residents and their families
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team for seamless coordination of care
• Manage chronic conditions and monitor progress
• Create a safe and nurturing environment for elderly residents

Requirements

• Minimum 6 months of experience in long-term care or a skilled nursing facility
• Active and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, or Physician license
• DEA License
• CPR BCLS/BLS certification
• Master's Degree in Nursing
• Degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
• One year of experience in Gastroenterology
• Ability to lift 20 pounds and stand/walk for 6-8 hours per day

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience documenting in EMR (Sigma, Visual, PCC, etc.)
