Gasketmaker

Responsibilities

• Set and change dies, adjust components, and operate machines to shear, punch, crimp, notch, bend, or straighten stainless steel to precise measurements
• Install, align, and set specified dies, robotic arms, or other fixtures using gauges, templates, shims, and hand tools
• Monitor machine operations, record operational data, and perform basic preventative maintenance on assigned equipment
• Examine completed pieces for defects such as slugs, smears, scratches, or burrs and sort defective pieces accordingly
• Measure completed parts to verify conformance to specifications using micrometers, gauges, and calipers
• Read and follow work orders, production schedules, and standardized work instructions
• Enter production and statistical data into computer systems using MRP or barcode scanners
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with lean manufacturing and safety protocols
• Operate industrial power trucks, such as forklifts, as required

Requirements

• High school degree or equivalent
• 1–3 years of manufacturing experience
• Proven ability to perform die set-up
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and maintenance instructions
• Computer proficiency for data entry and system updates
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations involving fractions and decimals
• Ability to work all shifts, including weekends and overtime as required
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical/drug screen and background check
