Gas Turbine Thermal System Engineer

Responsibilities

• Carry out component thermal analysis simulations for thermal mapping of the engine
• Perform steady and transient thermal and secondary flows assessments in gas turbine engine components
• Conduct sizing and design studies for oil/lubrication systems, seals, sumps, bearings, and pumps
• Develop numerical and experimental methods for method verification and validation
• Review designs and simulations to generate testing guidelines
• Support team members by developing junior engineers and providing constructive feedback
• Identify project risks and plan for mitigation

Requirements

• Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
• 5-15 years of professional experience in propulsion or thermal systems
• Strong background in gas turbine propulsion, heat transfer, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics
• Proficiency in English (written and verbal)
• Experience using commercial tools such as Ansys Workbench or similar

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in FEA, CFD, or lower-order simulation methods
• Proficiency with 1D flow network software such as Flomaster or Amesim
• Programming experience using C, Matlab, or Simulink
• Knowledge of state-of-the-art technologies in materials, aerodynamics, and structural mechanics
