Gas Turbine Engine Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design activities for aerospace electronic control units and associated hardware
• Develop concept designs, 3D models, detailed drawings and engineering documentation
• Produce designs using Siemens NX and manage product data within Teamcenter
• Apply GD&T principles and undertake tolerance stack-up analysis
• Generate and review technical documentation including Test Plans, Test Procedures, Material Reports, and FMEA/DFMEA
• Collaborate with Stress, Thermal, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Test and Systems Engineering teams
• Support design reviews and ensure compliance with programme requirements
• Contribute to design verification and qualification activities in line with aerospace standards
• Estimate engineering effort and deliver work packages to agreed deadlines

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
• Minimum 5 years' experience within aerospace mechanical design or electronic enclosure design
• Experience working on Electronic Engine Controllers (EEC) or similar aerospace electronic units
• Proficiency in Siemens NX 7.5 and Teamcenter 8
• Strong understanding of GD&T and tolerance stack analysis
• Experience producing engineering reports and documentation to RTCA DO-160 and/or MIL standards
• Essential aerospace industry experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of advanced and modern manufacturing techniques
• Experience within gas turbine, propulsion or engine control systems
• Understanding of qualification and verification processes within regulated environments
