Gas Mig Steel Welder II

Responsibilities

• Perform welding and grinding of skids, tanks, SCR stands, and cable trays
• Use engineering documents and blueprints to guide the building of structures and fabrication of parts
• Execute GMAW and MIG welding, grinding panels, and fitting pipes
• Set up and operate oxyfuel and plasma torches to make clean square, straight, and beveled cuts
• Operate manufacturing machinery including band saws, ironworkers, bench grinders, and port-a-bands
• Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshoot equipment issues
• Maintain a safe work environment by following all established safety procedures

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of welding experience
• Ability to read, comprehend, and apply a Welding Procedure Specification (WPS)
• Ability to pass a steel plate GMAW fillet visual test (2F position) and 1G GMAW test
• Advanced ability to interpret engineering sketches, blueprints, and weld symbols
• Certification in the use of overhead cranes and fork trucks
• Proficiency in using measuring devices such as tape measures, pressure gauges, and fillet weld gauges
• Physical ability to lift 50lbs and stand/walk for extended periods on a manufacturing floor
