Gas Chromatography Specialist

Responsibilities

• Act as the technical specialist for Gas Chromatography instrumentation and analytical testing in food, consumer products, and chemical services
• Train internal laboratory teams in GC operation, sample preparation, method setup, and troubleshooting
• Establish and improve standards, procedures, test methods, and quality control checks
• Support ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation through method validation, verification, and technical documentation
• Lead and develop laboratory staff through coaching, performance feedback, and competency development
• Oversee GC-related activities including instrument readiness, calibration, and data integrity
• Monitor laboratory performance indicators such as productivity, turnaround time, and cost efficiency

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Food Science, Applied Science, or Chemical Technology
• Strong hands-on experience with Gas Chromatography instrumentation
• Experience in food and consumer product testing or chemical analysis
• Working knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 quality system requirements
• Proven experience operating, maintaining, or troubleshooting GC or GC-MS systems
• Experience leading laboratory staff and managing direct reports
• Ability to travel up to 15% for training, audits, or business requirements
