Gardener

Responsibilities

• Perform general horticultural duties including design, installation, and maintenance of display gardens
• Maintain ornamental garden beds and water features through weeding, mulching, watering, and pruning
• Ensure public walkways, patios, and outdoor wedding venues are kept clean and free from plant debris
• Operate gardening tools such as golf carts, blowers, push carts, and hand tools following safety standards
• Interact regularly and pleasantly with guests and visitors in a highly visible role

Requirements

• At least 3 years of hands-on horticulture experience (e.g., public gardens, nurseries, or private gardening)
• Strong knowledge of local plant species, sourcing, and maintenance techniques
• Ability to perform heavy lifting of up to 40-50 lbs
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to work around constraints such as varying business hours, weather extremes, and property events
• Strong interpersonal skills for working in close proximity to the general public

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate or B.S. degree in horticulture or a related field
