About the role
Responsibilities
- Oversee and execute evening operations for The Garden, a whole food, plant-based eatery
- Lead and supervise a team of student workers, fostering a culture of cooperation and respect
- Maintain high standards of food preparation, customer service, sanitation, and safety
- Direct supper food preparation processes and end-of-day closing procedures
- Collaborate with the Manager on menu development and kitchen supply management
- Assist in instructional workshops regarding plant-based living for students and the community
- Ensure food quality and consistency while managing food costs to maintain profitability
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in food service
- Current ServSafe Managers certification (or ability to obtain within 6 weeks of hire)
- Proven expertise in Whole Food, Plant-Based (WFPB) cooking and allergen-free preparation
- Proficiency with technology including Excel, Outlook, and POS systems
- An expressed commitment to Jesus Christ and the mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform standard food service physical tasks
Preferred Qualifications
- College or trade school education in a culinary field
