About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide therapeutic counselling to individuals, couples, families, and groups affected by gambling harm via face-to-face, telephone, and online modalities.
- Develop, implement, and regularly review individualised treatment plans based on clients' needs and goals.
- Deliver services in line with the program framework, including intake, assessment, and evidence-based interventions.
- Facilitate group support sessions to address gambling harm in the community.
- Respond to referrals promptly and make appropriate internal and external referrals to support clients holistically.
- Engage in community activities, including talks, presentations, outreach, and attendance at interagency and liquor accord meetings.
- Maintain accurate, confidential client records and data in line with funding requirements.
Requirements
- Degree in Psychology or Counselling.
- Current membership of a relevant peak professional body or association.
- Proven experience in therapeutic counselling, including assessment, case planning, and the delivery of individual, couple, family, and group sessions.
- Strong understanding of gambling-related harm and the challenges experienced by affected individuals and families.
- Current NSW driver’s license.
- Ability to undergo a national police history check and hold a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.
