Furnace Operator

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning, monitoring, and securing operations to assist in the setup of vacuum and rotary atomization furnaces
• Load charge into crucibles ensuring amount, type, and elements match technical specifications
• Execute repetitive tasks before and after pours based on verbal and written instructions
• Assist in preparing raw material charges and running the furnace control board
• Perform minor repairs on the furnace, atomization chamber, and auxiliary equipment
• Support continuous improvement and EH&S initiatives, including the use of required personal protective equipment
• Maintain housekeeping duties and assist in the removal and replacement of coils

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED (or equivalent)
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Strong communication skills and a good attendance record
• Ability to work at heights up to 60 feet
• Ability to wear a respirator
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods, bend, squat, twist, and reach overhead
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
