Funds Ratings Director

Responsibilities

• Lead new issuance rating processes, evaluating capital structure, legal protection, collateral quality, and cash flow dynamics
• Conduct due diligence meetings with issuers and managers to assess investment processes and risk management
• Prepare rating memos and new issuance reports for rating committees
• Lead ongoing monitoring and surveillance of outstanding issuances
• Develop and maintain complex spreadsheets and databases
• Collaborate with experts in project finance, corporate finance, and structured finance
• Supervise and mentor junior team members
• Represent KBRA at industry conferences, panels, and investor meetings
• Assist with in-depth credit research and publications

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Math, or a highly analytical field
• 8+ years of experience in fund finance, investing, or structured finance
• Experience with private equity, private credit, real estate, infrastructure, or asset-based lending
• Understanding of subscription lines, NAV financing, hybrid facilities, or rated feeders
• Experience reviewing legal documents and understanding liability structures and LTV/advance rates
• Advanced proficiency in Excel for financial modeling and stress scenario analysis
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for credit memo preparation
• Strong interpersonal skills for collaborative team environments

Preferred Qualifications

• CFA designation or interest in obtaining CFA
• Familiarity with Generative AI tools like ChatGPT for research and productivity
