Fund Accountant I

Responsibilities

• Assist with core lifecycle activities for bank loan positions, including trade settlements, funding tasks, and interest accruals
• Perform daily cash and position reconciliations across accounting systems, custodians, and sub-ledger data
• Prepare accounting system transaction loaders for journal entries and supporting schedules
• Support month and quarter-end close activities, including variance explanations and control attestations
• Maintain checklists, SOPs, and control documentation related to loan lifecycle events and NAV processes
• Collaborate with Portfolio Management, NAV Operations, Compliance, and Technology teams
• Track exceptions and assist in root-cause analyses to drive process improvements

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Mathematics
• 0–3 years of experience in fund accounting, investment operations, or a related field
• Basic understanding of mutual fund accounting concepts under U.S. GAAP
• Foundational reconciliation skills for cash and positions
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and lookups
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to meet daily deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent professional communication and collaborative skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to Solvas software
• CPA eligibility or interest in pursuing professional certification
• Previous internship or co-op experience in asset management
