Functional Safety Specialist

Responsibilities

• Perform hazard analysis, define Safety Goals, and identify usage assumptions
• Define and implement Functional Safety Requirements for each Safety Goal
• Conduct and moderate safety analyses such as FMEA and FTA
• Derive Technical Safety Requirements
• Perform confirmation reviews and support verification reviews to ensure ISO 26262 compliance
• Define specifications and Safety Validation reports
• Contribute to Functional Safety audits and assessments
• Support the implementation of Functional Safety processes within the organization

Requirements

• Degree in Electronic and Communications Engineering, Automotive Electronics, Computer Science, Embedded Systems, or related field
• Strong knowledge of ISO 26262 work products
• 3 to 5 years of experience in the automotive environment (OEM, Tier Supplier, or Engineering Service Provider)
• Solid understanding of Automotive Systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Requirements Management tools (Polarion, RATIONAL Doors)
• Experience with issue and document tracking tools (JIRA, Confluence)
• Experience with process automation tools (RATIONAL Synergy, TortoiseSVN, Microsoft SharePoint)
• Experience with safety analysis methods tools (Ansys Medini, APIS-IQ)
• Proficiency in MS Office and Outlook
