Functional Safety Engineer

Responsibilities

• Ensure functional safety in the design, development, and validation of Infotainment and connected vehicle features
• Provide functional safety guidance on feature definition and identify hazards from electrical malfunctions or HMI faults
• Perform vehicle-level HARA and conduct safety analyses including DFMEA, FTA, and FMEDA
• Develop safety mechanisms such as redundancy architectures, hardware diagnostics, and system health monitors
• Develop test cases to verify safety mechanisms using LabCar and HiL environments
• Collaborate with Diagnostics, Platform, HMI, Connectivity, and Electrical Systems teams

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics, or related discipline
• 2-3 years of automotive industry experience at an OEM or Tier 1 supplier
• Experience in functional safety or systems engineering with exposure to Infotainment or telematics
• Hands-on experience with electronic hardware fault diagnosis and network analysis (CAN/LIN/Automotive Ethernet)
• Proven knowledge of ISO 26262

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in ADAS systems and SOTIF considerations
• Familiarity with AI and machine learning concepts applied to automotive safety
